The amazing connective tissue that holds the cells and organs in place relays messages to them. The network is being studied for the role it plays in treating chronic pain and diseases. In acupuncture when a needle is inserted into the connective tissue it produces a physiological response in the body, the underlying tissue stretches in response. It is up to the acupuncturist to feel this response from different points in the body
The connective tissue body
If all of your organs and cells fell out of the body there would remain this connective tissue shape. When the needle is applied to this connective tissue it becomes attached when the needle is rotated.

When the fibroblast cells change shape they release ATP and collagen in response to healing, myofascial release, and Rolfing also work with the connective tissue network and like acupuncture work with the meridians in the body.
Where medicine has no answers
Medical technology is only beginning to trust and work in the matrix to help patients with conditions regular medicine is unable to achieve wellness or healing in like lower back pain.
Alternative holistic therapies like acupuncture and stretching are getting the attention they deserve and have become a motivating force in the medical industry and in clinical research has having validity and healing purpose. The science of stretching serves a broader purpose in holistic health and is gaining the respect it deserves. There is more to exercise than “pumping up” and weight loss. “Integrative medicine” now serves a larger purpose and the patient can only benefit from the new exciting results.
