Actress Valerie Harper Has Terminal Brain Cancer

Actress Valerie Harper, 73, has revealed exclusively to PEOPLE Magazine she has terminal brain cancer.

In the new issue of PEOPLE, which will be for sale on newsstands Friday, the actress reveals she was diagnosed with a terminal form of brain cancer known as leptomeningeal carcinomatosis on January 15. She has as little as three months to live.

Harper tells the magazine "I don't think of dying...I think of being here now."

Harper's most famous role is that of Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off Rhoda. The actress also battled lung cancer in 2009.
