“Charmed” actress Rose McGowan was hanging out in Venice Beach, Calif. catching the sunset on Jan. 2 with friend and former reality TV star Courtenay Semel, when she unexpectedly became witness to a “knockout game” assault and rendered assistance to the 65-year-old male victim.
McGowan documented the incident in a series of tweets, according to MSN.
Rose, @rosemcgowan, started out her tweets by posting, “I just witnessed a 65 year old man get punched by an evil guy playing that goddamn knockout game. #criminal #heartbroken #whattheF?!”
She went on to tweet that the assailant was wearing a mask and riding on a skateboard. McGowan chased after the masked mugger; but she tweeted that he was just “too fast.”
Rose even snapped a picture of the thug she described as a “masked coward,” in the hopes that it would help the cops with a possible identification.
Regarding the victim, Rose tweeted:
@rosemcgowan Bleeding from the ear. Called an ambulance for him. His little dog tried to protect. :(
Rose stayed with the 65-year-old and his little dog until help arrived.
She finished up her series of tweets on the incident by responding “Right!” when a follower said “I bet this is one of those times you wished you actually had Paige's powers. Make that dirt bag pay,” referencing Rose’s bewitching character with magical powers on “Charmed.”
Although perhaps best known for playing Paige Matthews on TV’s supernatural series “Charmed,” Rose has graced many fashion magazine covers and appeared in a number of films, including “The Doom Generation”, “Scream”, and “Going All the Way” to mention only a few.
Rose also made the headlines while dating controversial musician Marilyn Manson.
