Mariana Montes, the phenomenal stage actress from Mexico City is making a splash in Los Angeles.
Mariana began dedicating her life to acting at the pivotal age of 11 when she joined the prestigious Centro De Arte Dramatico C.A.D.C. Shortly after, she joined the renowned theatre company Carpe Diem led by Irma Coria where she starred in several plays including the hit production of “The Mirror”. Upon graduating from the internationally known CASAZUL Artes Escenicas Argos acting school in Mexico City, it seemed the stars were aligning in Mariana’s favor as she began landing lead roles in numerous productions including “Apagon”, “Café Descafeinado”, “Tartuff”, and “De La Calle”. She also starred in the lead role of Sara in the famous play “Bariona” which appeared in one of Mexico’s most notable auditoriums, The Circle Theatre. Mariana is best known for her work with Mexico’s leading stage director Mauricio Garcia Lozano (who has won countless awards including two National Fund for Culture & the Arts awards, and a Union of Theatre Critics and Writers award. Lozano most recently directed Mexico’s National Opera in the production of Beethoven’s Fidelio, and his production of Frida Kahlo, Unos Cuantos Piquetitos completed a successful international tour after opening for Amsterdam’s World Music Theater Festival).
Upon her arrival in Hollywood Mariana joined the esteemed Promenade Playhouse where she landed a lead role in David Harrower’s version of Luigi Pirandello’s most famous work “6 Characters Looking for an Author”. Mariana’s performance was a huge success and the production received rave reviews from the Los Angeles Times, Goldstar, Life in La and many more.
Having trained extensively in the Meisner, Chekhov and Strasberg acting techniques, Mariana’s versatile acting background is immediately evident from her roles on stage, as well as on camera.
Mariana gave an unforgettable performance in the film In the Cage which screened at the famous Chinese Theatre, a Hollywood landmark known for showing only the most prominent films. Despite a busy schedule filled with stage productions and acting classes, Mariana still found time to work in the theatre production of “Second Chances” by the Christian-based production company No Weapon Productions, a company who takes pride in being a family friendly production company that produces life-changing entertainment for the big screen, small screen and the stage.
Aside from achieving great success in numerous theatre productions at such a young age, Mariana has also made her mark on the silver screen in a big way. You can find her in the films The Girl From the Store, Always Say I Love You, The Garden, Who The F*ck is Uncle Joe?, Sand Castles, Devin’s Fog, and more.
