Leah Remini, the former star of the television sitcom ‘King of Queens’ and former member of the Church of Scientology is slated to get her own reality show on the TLC (The Learning Channel). The channel, which is becoming more and more “reality show” oriented, will add the yet untitled project to their summer lineup.
Recently, Remini made a public break for the controversial religious group citing she did not want her daughter exposed to their teachings and for her, it was family first. The church responded back by labeling her as “self-absorbed.”
The new series was picked up for 12 one-hour episodes featuring her husband, Angelo Pagan and their 9-year old daughter, Sofia. Also joining them will be Remini’s opinionated mom, stepdad, sister, brother-in-law, Sofia’s brash British nanny and Remini’s wisecracking housekeeper and personal assistant.
This will not be Remini’s first crack at a reality series. In 2003, VH1 documented her wedding and the 2004 birth of her daughter as part of their (Inside) Out series.
