A "Mad Men" actress' hair is falling out in clumps and she divulged details about what's behind the reason, ABC News reports Jan. 28.
January Jones, who portrays Don Draper's ex-wife, Betty, told a British magazine that she's experiencing hair loss from over-processing.
“I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps,” Jones told Britain's Grazia Daily.
Jones admits that color processing has damaged her hair so bad, that it's taking a toll. She has been a brunette, redhead, and most famously a blonde.
“I like it all colors, it makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde," Jones shared. "My son recognizes me in photos when I am blonde. He says, ‘Mama.
“I’ve been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again. I’m going to have to shave it off and wear a wig.”
Excessive chemical treatments to hair can cause severe damage resulting in breakage that will likely lead to hair loss. Depending on genetics and texture of hair, it can be hard to undo. Professional hairstylists will confirm that fact. Some hair types are more prone to breakage and the threat of going bald.
When an actress comes forward and shares that her hair is falling out it shows a very real side to her. Most celebrities aren't willing to reveal such problems associated with their hair or beauty regime.
