Actress Brittany Murphy dead at 32

Reports began coming in this morning and it is now confirmed that actress Brittany Murphy, age 32, has died.

TMZ broke the news that a 911 call was made at 8am from a home in Los Angeles that belonged to her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjak. When firefighters arrived they found Murphy in full cardiac arrest and were unable to revive her on scene. She was rushed to Cedars-Siani Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 10:04am.

Murphy is best known for her roles in Clueless and 8 Mile, but she also starred in such thrillers as Don't Say a Word, The Prophecy II, The Dead Girl and Deadline.

Friends and colleagues alike began the outpouring of support immediately following the news of her death. Using the social media site, Twitter, Ashton Kutcher, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, Eliza Dushku, Simon Pegg and many other Hollywood stars offered their condolences and memories of the star.

While it's been reported that Brittany Murphy's husband does not want an autopsy performed on his late wife, the L.A. County Coroner's office will indeed go ahead with the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Her mother told paramedics that Brittany had a history of diabetes, but this is yet to be confirmed.

At age 32, Brittany Murphy was just warming up for what could have been a lengthy career in Hollywood, and her death comes as a surprise to all. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her personally, professionally, and by those who just loved her movies.
