About the Play
The occupants of a cross country bus are left stranded in a blizzard at a corner diner in a no-name town west of Kansas City, Missouri. The weather conditions have closed the highway and the passengers as well as a handful of locals must wait out the storm until the highway is cleared.
One of the occupants is a dance hall girl from Kansas City who has been kidnapped by a young cowboy who is smitten by her and has kidnapped her to take her back to Montana to be his wife. As the truth comes out, the local sheriff steps in to help her.
As the night wears on the stranded people pass the time drinking coffee, singing, performing Shakespeare, eating, talking, fighting and falling in love. When the road opens up everyone in the diner has been changed from when they first walked in.
Tickets for Bus Stop are on sale now through the box office at (330) 374-7568 and online at actorssummit.org. Preview tickets (February 20) are $20. Tickets for all other performances: $33 for adults, $28 for seniors over 65; and $10 for all full time students under 30.
