Actors From the London Stage to perform 'Hamlet' at Notre Dame, Feb. 13-14

Washington Hall on the Notre Dame campus will be the venue for a performance of Shakespeare's Hamlet by the Actors From the London Stage at 7:30 p.m. on February 13-14, 2013. Regular tickets are $22 per person, with discounts available for seniors, students and children.

Actors From the London Stage is a 5-person, self-directed group with a rotating cast of professional actors from the stage in the U.K. The group has a long-term relationship with the University of Notre Dame, through which it books its performances at U.S. higher learning institutes. The Hamlet performance is part of a tour that includes stops at Valparaiso University, Vanderbilt University and Texas A&M.

Tickets are available through Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center website or by calling the box office at (574) 631-2800. Ticket office hours are weekdays, noon to 6 p.m. The family-friendly performance is expected to run approximately 2 1/2 hours. Hamlet is the longest play written by William Shakespeare.

According to the Royal Shakespeare Company, Hamlet is also the Bard's most-performed play, with a production being staged somewhere in the world every minute.

Fans of Shakespeare at Notre Dame may recall that The Professional Company staged a performance of Hamlet at August 2012.
