Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead in his Manhattan apartment

According to the Wall Street Journal and numerous other reports on Sunday, Academy Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has died. The 46 year-old actor who most recently appeared on screen in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" apparently and reportedly has died from a drug over-dose.

According to police investigating the scene, Hoffman was found Sunday morning in his bathroom with a hypodermic needle still in his arm. Hoffman has had a history of drug abuse and rehab treatment.

Hoffman had won the Best Actor Oscar for the film "Capote" in 2005. He was nominated three times since in the Supporting Actor category, for his work in "Charlie Wilson's War" in 2007, "Doubt" in 2008 and "The Master" just last year.

IMDB.com shows that Hoffman has already completed work in three films that will be released in 2014: "God's Pocket," "A Most Wanted Man" and the already shot "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1."
