Actor on school board: 'Breaking Bad' actor wins a seat on the school board (Video)

While the series finale approaches, Steven Michael Quezada who plays a DEA drug agent on the hit series "Breaking Bad," announced in a recent interview with CNN that he would be involved in schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

On Feb. 5, Yahoo! reported that Quezada ran unopposed on Tuesday for a seat on the city's west side District 5 and has now won a seat on Albuquerque's school board.

"This is my home and where I want to work. We're hurting out here and we need people who can go out and engage our community. I think it's my destiny to do that... I believe I'm in a position to help kids and my community. Education is the best way to ensure our future." he said on CNN .

This action in the schools of his native state is by no means the prelude to a new career in politics, he assured.

The series " Breaking Bad "returns in the summer to AMC and the second half of the final fifth season will be aired.
