According to the TMZ website, legendary actor Mickey Rooney passed away on Sunday. Rooney was 93 years old at the time of his passing and had apparently been in poor health for some time. The Oscar-nominated actor was said to have died of natural causes.
Mickey Rooney's illustrious career spanned ten decades. He was a working actor during the silent film era. In his heyday, the actor portrayed Andy Hardy in a series of films. One such movie was “Love Finds Andy Hardy,” in which he starred with Judy Garland. He also had major roles in “Boy's Town,” “National Velvet,” “Young Tom Edison,” “Strike Up the Band,” and “Babes in Arms.” Rooney received a Juvenile Academy Award in 1939. He was nominated for another Oscar for his performance in the 1943 film, “The Human Comedy.”
Mickey Rooney was well-known for his marriages, many of which were short-lived. The star was married eight times, most notably to actress Ava Gardner. May he rest in peace.
