Actor Michael Masini says 'I do' on ABC's 'Modern Family'

Actor Michael Masini just married Elizabeth Banks. Okay, just to be clear – actor Michael Masini just played the character Anthony Lombardo on an episode of the ABC hit-show “Modern Family” – and Anthony married Sal, the fun loving party girl friend of Mitch and Cameron, played by the uber-funny actress Elizabeth Banks. All clear?!

Michael first made a name for himself on the ice as a pro hockey player for the Boston Jr. Bruins, Vail Avalanche (National Champions) and the Amarillo Rattlers of the Western Professional Hockey League. He then turned his sights on acting and quickly snagged the role of Joey on NBC’s daytime drama “Passions.” Since then, he’s appeared in Sony Pictures Home Entertainment release “Cross,” Lifetime’s “The Protector,” Cinemax’s “Femme Fatales,” Comedy Central’s TV movie “The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down,” and numerous indie projects including film festival darling, “Fifty Pills.”

We recently caught up with Michael to ask him about his “Modern Family” nuptials and more.

Tell us about your guest starring role opposite Elizabeth Banks on “Modern Family.”

MICHAEL: It was great. My first Prime Time comedy credit and what a great show. The cast was amazing. The creators director and writers were so welcoming they made it the most fun I ever had on set.

What’s it like walking onto the set of the funniest show on television? Is that a lot of pressure or do you even think about it?

MICHAEL: I didn't think about it much. Everyone was so cool it was easy. Yes you hope it comes together well. We did so many different takes all different ways I'm excited to see the finished product.

Behind the scenes is everyone trying to outdo one another with pranks or does everyone just keep the funny in the work?

MICHAEL: They were all awesome. Just as funny and fun behind the scenes as on the show. Like a big happy family. I guess that's why they win so many awards. They are all genuine great people that love what they do.

Do you think you’ll get to come back again on the show?

MICHAEL: I hope so. I know Elizabeth has a busy schedule being a movie star but I'm sure they'll bring us back to see what kind of new antics we're up to.

What’s up next for you?

MICHAEL: A film I acted and produced is headed to Tribeca Film Festival if we get the edit done in time. Looks great and it was a passion project about the collapse of the housing market. We did it as an indie festival feature titled “Option Arm.”

And, how can your fans keep up with you?

MICHAEL: I will be opening a Twitter account. I didn't before because there was nothing to publicize. I am getting on that. Check my website out for updates: www.MichaelMasini.com

Thanks for chatting, Michael. We'll be watching...'til death do us part!
