Actor Kevin Sizemore took time out of his crazy busy schedule to chat about ABC’s much anticipated new series ‘Resurrection.’ Born in Princeton, WV, Sizemore has a mile long filmography including ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ and his brilliant acting has made him regarded as one of the most ‘hated’ men in ‘Under the Dome.’ Catch Sizemore’s performance in ‘Resurrection’ starring opposite Omar Epps, Kurtwood Smith & Frances Fisher next Mar 9 at 10/9c.
Q. I love the concept of your new show ‘Resurrection’ for ABC. Great cast! Can you tell what it was like on the set?
A. The writers are doing an amazing job telling a complex story that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. When you put together a cast like they have, there's no way to enjoy it…..I'm in heaven being able to work with all them. Especially Kurtwood Smith…we've been friends for years.
Q. Your character Paul Randolph in ‘Under The Dome’ was the turning point early on in the season. Tell your fans what was your favorite part of that show and are you coming back for season 2?
A. I'm now regarded as one of the most hated men ‘Under The Dome!’ The relationships are always what I take away from my projects and I really had a great time with the cast & crew while shooting in Wilmington, NC! My favorite part of the show was the scene where I lose control and actually try to shoot the Dome. Even though a tragedy happened after the bullet bounced back to my partner….it set the tone for the show. Am I coming back? You're gonna have to tune in next season and see?
Q: What film projects do you have in the works?
A. My film ‘Red Line ‘alongside John Billingsley and Nicole Gale Anderson is now available on Netflix. I was able to go back to my home state of West Virginia and share the screen with the amazing Terry Kiser in ‘A Christmas Tree Miracle,’ which releases in November. ‘Can I Get A Witness Protection’ just wrapped last week and it's due out in 2014.
Q. What inspired you to become an actor?
A. I wanted to be the drummer in a band…..which I did while in high school. Once I realized that there were more people in the band (4), than in our audience, I decided to change careers. Ha. (I still play the drums though) I just wanted to have a creative outlet where I could be a storyteller and take people on a journey where they can just escape the everyday struggles and be entertained. There is nothing worse than doing a job or career that you hate, and I'm so blessed that I can do what I love and have people benefit from it.
Q. Are you by chance a fan of science fiction, video games, or comic books? Do you have any favorites?
A. I'm a huge fan of ‘The Returned’ by Jason Mott, which is what ‘Resurrection’ is based on. In the video game world, it would have to be ‘Madden’ or’ NBA Jam’ and I can't recall the last comic book I bought. I do have an old ‘Happy Days ‘one that's really cool.
Q. If you were a baseball player, what would your walk up song be?
A. I would have to have 3 songs on cue depending on my mood: #1 Modern Day Cowboy by TESLA … #2 Truck Yeah by TIM MCGRAW #3 Strong Tower KUTLUSS… (starting at 2.38).
