According to ComicBook.com on Oct 4, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actor James McAvoy said he would like to star in a "Thundercats" film. A recent interview shows him explaining the characters from the 80s cartoon show and how he didn't care for the idea of Snarf being in the film version where McAvoy had equated him to that of Jar Jar Binks from movie "Star Wars".
“It’s basically the movie Vice Versa,” he joked, “but with super powers and the Sword of Omens. That’s amazing. That could be an Oscar as well as box office bait!”
McAvoy also named dropped actors that could easily portray corresponding roles from the 80s cartoon show and mentions a fan made trailer where the creators formed the likeness of Brad Pitt image into Lion-O and Vin Diesel into Panthro through the magic of video editing.
Though, McAvoy does acknowledge the vintage 80s show isn't quite "super hero-ish", he would like to see it become a reality, but he doesn't think that it's likely to happen.
McAvoy is known for his role in "X-Men: First Class" and the upcoming movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past" where he plays the young version of Professor Charles Xavier.
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will open in theaters on May 23, 2014.
