Idris Elba has played some stylish characters in films like “Takers” and "Obsessed” so it's no surprise the television and film actor has landed the cover of “GQ’s” October issue. In a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot which was posted to the magazine’s youtube channel on Thursday, Sept. 19, the “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” star is seen striking various poses for the camera.
In the video Elba talks about his personal style and that of two well known roles he’s played in his career; “Stringer Bell” from HBO’s “The Wire” and Nelson Mandela from the upcoming biopic about the civil rights icon.
He tells “GQ” in a cover story for the magazine that there were lean years before the fame.
“I was sofa-hopping here and there and got to a place where I was parking it in Jersey somewhere and just camping down for the night.”
