Actor has terminal cancer: 'Game of Thrones' star refuses treatment (Video)

An actor has terminal cancer, but won't be receiving treatment. The sad and surprising news about "Game of Thrones" star Wilko Johnson was announced on Johnson's Facebook page. On Jan. 9, 2013, his manager posted a message that reads, in part:

"I am very sad to announce that Wilko has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas. He has chosen not to receive any chemotherapy."

The message goes on to say that although the actor has terminal cancer, he is not suffering and is in good spirits. The 65-year-old actor is expected to have several more good months ahead of him.

Johnson's fans are posting messages of support to the "Game of Thrones" star, and some are even recommending holistic or alternative cancer treatments.

Although the actor has terminal cancer, he isn't slowing down yet. Currently, he is in Japan where he is touring with his band, the Wilko Johnson Band. When he is through with the tour, he plans to hit the studio to record a new album, and he doesn't plan to stop there. A short farewell tour will follow with dates in the United Kingdom and France, according to Softpedia.

Johnson is himself a widower. His and his wife Irene Knight were childhood sweethearts who married as teens. She died from cancer in 2004. Johnson has one child with Knight, a son named Simon.
