Actor Glenn Shadix died on September 7, 2010. Well-known for his role in Tim Burton's 'Beetlejuice', the actor died in his Birmingham, Alabama home, reportedly from trauma to his head after falling in his kitchen. Shadix was 58 years old.
Although the cause of death is not confirmed, Shadix's sister, Susan Gagne, told The Birmingham News, "He was having mobility problems, and he was in a wheelchair ... it looks like he fell and hit his head in the kitchen, and that's the cause of death."
Besides his role in Beetle Juice, Shadix appeared in a long list of films including Demolition Man, Meet the Applegates and Dunston Checks In.
He also appeared on many television shows, including Cheers, Roseanne, The Golden Girls. On Seinfeld, he played Jerry Seinfeld's landlord.
According to Glenn Shadix's website, a memorial service has been scheduled. The site posted the following: "A memorial service for Mr. Shadix will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakeside Baptist Church, 2865 Old Rocky Ridge, Vestavia Hills. The family requests that memorials be made to the Theatre Department of the Alabama School of Fine Arts, 1800 Eighth Ave. North, Birmingham."
