Actor Cory Monteith checks into rehab due to substance addiction

Glee star Cory Monteith has checked himself into rehab due to substance addiction. Cory's rep has confirmed Sunday night that the actor has entered rehab "voluntarily" due to a substance addiction and "He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery." People was the first to break the news on their website.

Though this is not Cory's first time at the rodeo. The 30-year-old actor has been open about his addiction he had in the past. The actor first went to a rehab when he was 19-years-old and spoke openly in interviews about how serious his problem was and that he took about "anything and everything." and that he was "lucky to be alive."

Cory's on screen and off screen girlfriend Lea Michele tweeted today "Feeling so grateful today."

A rep for Glee told E! News, "Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return."
