Veteran actor Billy Dee Williams will show off his dance moves on season 18 of the ABC hit show “Dancing With the Stars”. On “Good Morning America” Tuesday the film and television star was announced as one of several celebrities who have joined the show’s upcoming season.
Williams was unveiled along with “RHOA” star Nene Leakes, comedian “Drew Carey and Olympians Charlie White and Meryl Davis just to name a few.
The 76-year-old has starred in several memorable roles over the course of his long career. He starred opposite legendary singer Diana Ross in the 1975 cult classic “Mahogany” which was the second pairing for the two. They also starred in the Oscar nominated Billie Holiday biopic “Lady Sings the Blues” in 1972. Sci-fi fans will remember Williams for his role as Lando Calrissian in the “Stars Wars” franchise. On television the versatile actor starred in the 1971 tear-jerker “Brian’s Song” as football icon Gayle Sayers and as legendary music mogul Berry Gordy in the 1992 mini-series “The Jacksons: An American Dream”.
“Dancing With the Stars” season 18 premieres Monday March 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
