Over the years there have been a number of video games based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Depending on when you were a kid determined what kinda game you got to play. Those old enough to remember the heyday of the arcade surely remember the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" 1989 arcade game, and how awesome it was.
Then there's that group of gamers who skipped the arcade release and got stuck with the NES game "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", a tough as nails game that almost ruined the Turtles chances are having a good video game. Thankfully, Konami ported the arcade game over to the NES, and even with it's technical limitations, it made up for that first horrible game.
Since then we've gotten the great "Turtles In Time" and some recent releases like "TMNT" that weren't overly good or bad. Activision and Nickelodeon are looking to bring the Turtles back to consoles, taking advantage of the green heros making their recent return to TV.
Activision has inked a new multi-year deal with Nickelodeon to publish three new games based on the series. The first game is set to launch this Summer, but no other details were given.
A statement was made by Activision about the games, saying they would "take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles."
For now, all gamers can do is sit back and try to finish that Dam level.
