Active Amber Alerts: Jacob, Justin Quinones, Zahra Baker (photos, videos)
There are three national Amber Alerts currently active: Jacob Quinones, Justin Quinones and Zahra Baker. Jacob and Justin Quinones were abducted from their Anaheim, California home on October 8, 2010 while taking out trash with their mother. Authorities believe that the children were abducted by their father and paternal grandfather, the vehicle which their mother reported as abducting the children has been located, but the children are still missing.
Zahra Baker vanished from her home on October 9, 2010, prompting an Amber Alert on October 10, 2010. Zahra Baker’s case is handled by the Hickory Police Department. Hickory Police Officer Cory Smith stated, “She's 10 years old, she's scared, she has these disabilities. I can't imagine what's going through her head right now.”
Zahra is a bone cancer survivor and lost her left leg and hearing to the disease. Zahra did not have her hearing aids with her when she left, reducing the possibility she left willingly or ran away from home.
Zahra’s stepmother, Elisa Baker, was arrested on October 10, 2010 for multiple non-violent charges, however, she has not been ruled out as a person of interest in Zahra’s case.
