I became an actor, and because I had success as an actor, I became famous. I was acting for quite a while before I got famous; television made me famous. I guess that it's television that is responsible for everybody's desire to be famous."
Kelsey Grammer
Allen Kelsey Grammer best known as Kelsey Grammer, is an American actor best known for his two-decade portrayal of psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane in the NBC sitcoms Cheers (nine years) and Frasier (eleven years), and providing the voice of Sideshow Bob on the FOX animated series The Simpsons.
After leaving Juilliard, Grammer had a three-year internship with the Old Globe Theatre, in San Diego, in the late 1970s, before a stint in 1980 at the Guthrie Theater, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Grammer made his Broadway debut in 1981, with his television career also beginning in the early 1980s when he portrayed Stephen Smith in the NBC miniseries Kennedy. Grammer became well known as Dr. Frasier Crane in the NBC sitcom Cheers.

I'm an actor and I've created a lasting and memorable character named Frasier, who is not me, but who most people think is. So when I have a chance to play something that's different, I embrace it because it's fun; also in this case, he's a memorable character." - Kelsey Grammer
In 2007, Grammer returned to the sitcom format as the central character in the American sitcom Back to You, co-starring with Patricia Heaton. CBS, which has been wanting to have an extension night of comedies beyond its Monday Night line-up, has wanted to air You for another season.
Grammer's smooth, deep voice makes him popular for voiceover work. He has provided the voice of Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons, winning an Emmy for his work in the episode "The Italian Bob."
Grammer has appeared in eleven episodes of The Italian Bob, and since the show's inception in 1989, the most recent being "Wedding for Disaster" that aired in early 2009.
