Sam Worthington graduated from Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. 

Worthington  received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Arthur Wellesley in his first professional role in the Belvoir Street Theatre production Judas Kiss.

From theatre Worthington went on to work in Australian television on such shows as Water Rats (2000) and Backburner.  American television saw him in JAG's 100th episode (Boomerang part 1).

Sam has teetered back and forth in Australian and American films.  He made his first movie appearance in  the Australian movie Bootmen. Minor roles proceeded in Hart's War and Matter of Life before he starred in Dirty Deeds (2002), soon to follow was Getting Square, another Aussie film.

Sam got his big break in 2004 when he directed his first short film, Enzo. Having made his directorial debut on the short film, "Enzo." ~ Avatar (2009)

It's been said that Sam has a strong career ahead of him and is one Aussie actor to look out for.  His most recent action-packed films in America have been one of the new movie releases, Terminator Salvation, with Christian Bale and Bryce Dallas Howard,  where he plays Marcus Wright.

More big flics for 2009 are Avatar and Last Night.  In addition to Worthington's Titan portrayal, he has also been a big part of The Debt (2010).  And his revenge-seeking character, Perseus, in Clash of the Titans, is to premiere March of next year.  Sam's following in big footsteps, such as the "Governator," but, no problems there, as he seems to be pulling his own.  And not just in Terminator Salvation...

Says the actor of his Titan character Perseus:

He's Charles Bronson in Death Wish.  That's how I'm playing him.  And his skirt?  We're trying to make it as manly as possible."
