Since Keith Urban's arrival on the US country music scene in 1999, Keith Urban has gone on to record 13 #1 singles as well as 14 top ten hits and won multiple awards including Grammys and a CMA Entertainer of the Year award. However, despite all Keith Urban's accomplishments, there is one honor Keith Urban has never had until now.
Relativity Media has announced that the upcoming film, Act of Valor, which depicts the covert missions of U.S. Navy Seals trying to rescue a kidnapped CIA agent, will feature a song written by Keith Urban. The song, For You, is Keith Urban's first experience writing a song specifically for a motion picture. Keith Urban was able to preview Act of Valor to get a sense of the storyline and the depth of commitment the U.S. Navy Seals give to our country each day that they serve.
Keith Urban had this to say about his writing experience:
“I loved the challenge of writing for a film. I’ve never done that before. After seeing Act Of Valor, my co-writer (Monty Powell) and I wanted to capture the essence of not only what these men and women do so extraordinarily, but how that relates to all of us. 'Valor' shows us what they are willing to give their all for, which made me wonder, 'what am I willing to give my life for?' ‘For You’ is intended to allow the listener to define who that is for them.”
Keith Urban's new song, For You, will run during the end credits of Act of Valor. The movie is scheduled for a February 24th, 2012 release, but country music fans can hear the song sooner as it debuts on iTunes on February 21st.
