SJ, an Independent Music Award nominee, will perform at J.G. McGuinness in Weston, Fla., on Jan. 23. SJ is the founder of the Acoustic Soul Group (ASG) and has gained celebrity status among acoustic music lovers. Singer and songwriter SJ continues to develop ASG into an independent, niche company with a unique brand.
SJ’s unconventional background as an attorney gives him a unique perspective on the music industry. He is the president and general counsel of Acoustic Soul Group and the featured artist. With his knowledge of international law, investment and trade, SJ has been able to mold ASG into a unique company. In addition, he continues to perform live and write his own music.
Nominated for more than 15 Independent Music Awards, SJ has found success with his musical talents. His single, “I Like You,” made it to the top 10 chart of most popular songs on non-commercial radio, and SJ was nominated by Sirius XM for the Discovery of the Year award in 2011. In 2012, he started his first national tour and released his album “Coffee: Strong Brew Edition.” SJ was the winner of Hollywood Music in Media’s Best Folk/Acoustic Emerging Artist award.
SJ is focusing on his own music career while continuing to build the Acoustic Soul Group. The company has its own record label, Acoustic Soul Records, LLC (ASR), and management company, Acoustic Soul Live, LLC (ASL). In addition, Acoustic Soul Publishing, LLC (ASP) offers independent publishing services for acoustic music. All of these divisions are by invitation only for interested artists.
