Caregivers come in all shapes and sizes. Some are family, some are hired and of course some caregivers are volunteers. The important information for us is to remember they are here because they care. There is no description or way to understand the amount of themselves they give unless you are a caregiver also.
October is the month we acknowledge breast cancer, macular degeneration and so many more diseases, all of which will require from time to time a caregiver. Yes we should acknowledge any and all of the disease; and yes there is a particular month to acknowledge caregivers; however, why only one month a year. These people we depend on for so much including our life, we need to acknowledge all of the time.
If you know a caregiver tell them ‘Thank You’. If you have a caregiver especially tell them ‘Thank You’. And if you employ a caregiver for a family member, acknowledge all they do with a ‘Thank You’ and a hug. These are the people who make our life go round.
