This year’s Vans Warped Tour is fast approaching but there are still tickets available. This touring music festival will be held at the grounds of the AT&T Center on Saturday June 14, 2014. Bands associated with the tour include Captain Capa, Bowling for Soup, The Lost Boys and many more and the lineup varies with each city. The complete lineup is available online. One of the bands playing in San Antonio that day is ACIDIC, a young rock/alternative band from Southern California.

ACIDIC was founded by lead/vocalist Michael Gossard while he was still in high school and includes drummer Matt Whitaker, guitarist Josh Bennett and bassist Max Myrick. They started off the year with their own headlining tour and are now a part of the Vans Warped Tour with shows in Houston, Dallas, Albuquerque, Mesa, Las Vegas, Pomona, Mountain View and Ventura. Their live shows are fast becoming known for their energy and Michael Gossard’s ability to connect with the audience.

Their latest CD release “Copper Man” has gotten rave reviews and for good reason. The ten track release starts out strong with the title track and gives rock fans a good idea of how impressive the rest of the CD is. Stand out songs include ‘Monster’ with its catchy chorus and ‘Only One’ which starts off with a sweet sounding melody and then morphs into an all out rock jam. The ballad ‘Believe’ wraps it up neatly making it one of those rare CDs that can be enjoyed in its entirety.
