In mi-August 2013, the FDA published a new warning concerning the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, acetaminophen. The U.S. food and drug administration used to consider the pain and fever reducer as safe and effective. This over-the counter pill can be found under different names worldwide. It is the most commonly taken drug by adults, infants and children. In the States, it is also label as paracetamol. Acetaminophen can be used in combination with other medicines, including opioids for pain and medicines to treat colds, coughs, allergy, headaches and trouble sleeping.
Serious skin reaction. Symptoms can include rash, blisters and, in the worst case, widespread damage to the surface of skin.
- Stevens - Johnson syndrome.
- Toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Both conditions usually require hospitalization and can cause death.
