Since Sunday's LockDown PPV, the wrestling world has been waiting to see what Bully Ray and his biker club Aces & 8's would do on Thursday's episode of Impact wrestling live from Chicago. It didn't take long for the heel faction to make their presence felt. According to a March 14 report by WrestlingInc.com, Impact opened up with the Aces & 8's coming out and interrupting a scheduled world tag-team title match. The group destroyed the tag-team of Hernandez and Guerrero before Bully Ray took the microphone and ripped into TNA, the fans and the Hogans.
At the LockDown PPV, Bully Ray revealed that he was the president of Aces & 8's after turning on his "friend" Jeff Hardy. Bully hit Hardy with a hammer in the back of the head, scored the pinfall and won the TNA world heavyweight title. Thursday's episode of Impact wrestling was centered around what Bully Ray had to say about his "Swerve" and how Hulk Hogan would respond.
Throughout the episode, there were plenty of Aces & 8's segments. However, it was all just a buildup to the closing of the show when Aces & 8's came out and interfered in the main event match of Sting vs. Austin Aries. The heels brutally attacked Sting and then called out Hulk Hogan. The Hulkster came out on the stage and said that he empowered the locker room to unite and fight against the Aces & 8's. At this moment, numerous wrestlers like Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and more, came out to brawl with the biker club.
Unfortunately for the TNA superstars, Aces and 8's won the battle and reigned supreme on TNA's first live taping of Impact wrestling outside of its former home of Orlando, Florida.
Despite the unfavorable outcome for the TNA roster, the company has to be ecstatic over how lively the crowd was in Chicago. The raucous environment made Thursday's episode of Impact wrestling feel important and exciting. All throughout the night, TNA personalities were tweeting how amazing it was wrestling live in Chicago. When it's all said and done, TNA might have lost the battle against the Aces & 8's but they won the war in overall company growth due to the huge success of Impact wrestling live from Chicago.
