Accused Tampa shooter Curtis Reeves has been denied bail in the movie theater shooting that left Chad Oulson dead. Now new details are emerging about the retired police captain, and they may well shed a new light on the heartbreaking incident. WTSP shared the details on Jan. 15.
A woman named Jamira Dixon has come forward and says that the accused Tampa shooter had confronted her about texting at the same movie theater two weeks ago. She says that she was texting before a movie at the Cobb movie theater when Curtis Reeves got irate with her.
Dixon says she put her phone away, but then a man in front of her started texting as well. That is when she says Reeves yelled at him. Dixon goes on to say that the man later followed her to the bathroom and glared at her, according to the Daily News. Now she looks back at the incident and feels chills over what could have happened had things progressed any further.
Chad Oulson died and his wife Nichole Oulson was injured after the accused Tampa shooter got into an altercation with them Monday during a screening of “Lone Survivor.” Reeves faces a second-degree murder charge. His lawyer argued that he has spent his life protecting the community, but bail was denied.
The defense contends that the accused Tampa shooter feared for his life after being hit with an “unknown object” during the dispute. However, many wonder now if the apparent prior incident with Dixon that is eerily similar may cause issues with the defense's argument. That unknown object involved in Monday's dispute is said to have been popcorn thrown by Oulson.
Many have come forward to defend the accused Tampa shooter, while Chad Oulson has been described as a “gentle spirit” by his devastated family and friends.
