It is now learned that a former Fort Worth high school teacher, who is now in police custody after being accused of a teacher-student sex scandal, is now pregnant.
Jennifer Riojas, 25, was apprehended last Wednesday and has been indicted for sexual assault of a child. Some time last month, Riojas did quit her job as a ninth grade teacher at Carter-Riverside High School.
The young victim, now 17, had stepped forward to speak to authorities, since he was so concerned that he might be the biological parent of the accused teacher’s unborn child, according to investigators. At this moment, they are waiting for paternity test results.
Another reason why the victim came forward was that there had supposedly been several encounters between the student and the teacher, and the locations of those encounters ranged from the teacher’s classroom, to hospital bed, to numerous hotel rooms, which were rented and paid for by Riojas herself. The victim was at the hospital recovering from a football injury, and at some point then, Riojas had visited him there. In addition, almost every day, he used to spend his lunch hours with the teacher in her classroom.
Yesterday, when the school was notified of the teacher’s apprehension, the students there droned, with rumors spreading all around.
This sort of connection between the student and Riojas turned out to be “universal knowledge” on campus, asserted by Riojas’ students as well as the victim’s friends. Some of the students claimed that Riojas, who taught science, was clad in incongruous or inappropriate clothing.
Authorities are waiting for further information regarding this case.
