Accurate Mexican crime gun reporting better late than never

Is the U.S. Arming Mexican Cartels?Fox News asks in an account published yesterday.

“If you ever watch video or look at pictures of the drug war in Mexico, you'll notice some pretty heavy weapons. This is a war being waged with rockets and plastic explosives, not pea shooters and Saturday Night Specials,” the report states.

“You can't buy this stuff at a U.S. gun store,” it confirms. “So where do the cartels get it?”

Three sources, the report continues, citing “leaked diplomatic cables”: U.S. foreign military sales, the Mexican government and Central America.

This should come as no surprise to regular Gun Rights Examiner readers, who have long been aware of:

The Fox report continues:

"More than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops that line our border," President Obama said in February 2009.

That was contested, but few listened…

Tell us about it.

Not that truth stops most of the other “Authorized Journalists” from continuing to use this phony meme to misinform long after it’s been exposed for the lie that it is.

Fox News had another scoop that came out over the weekend:

You don’t say.

Better late than never.

This isn't to take away from anything Fox is doing with it's continued "Mexican crime gun" coverage--it's important work, and new information to corroborate other reports is absolutely vital.  We should be grateful they are fulfilling the needed role of government watchdog on this story.

Especially with the traditional yellow journalism over at Hearst and throughout the “mainstream media,” where everybody is doing their utmost to ignore “Project Gunwalker”--and to blame freedom for the predictable results of tyranny.

Note to newcomers to this story: “Project Gunrunner” is the name ATF assigned to its Southwest Border Initiative to interdict gun smuggling to Mexico. “Project Gunwalker” is the name I assigned to the scandal after allegations by agents that monitored guns were allowed to fall into criminal hands on both sides of the border through a surveillance process termed “walking” surfaced.
