“‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope’ (Jeremiah 29:11).” “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).” This word trust is quite obscure to many people, especially nowadays. Very few people trust in the Lord or rather understand what this means by His Will.
Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ knows who we all are and is the ultimate Judge of our transgressions. Do you try to follow the Will of our Lord, or do you travel by your own rules? Do you ask God what He wants for you, or rather just demand what you want for yourself?
Think about this. On the selfish and selfless scale, where do you stand? Are you more likely to be haughty, thinking only of yourself? Or perhaps, do you only wish to please God by doing things for others?
There is a huge misconception about the trust we must have in God and in His Will. We must attempt to ask only what He wants for us. He may not answer us the way we would assume, but listen very carefully. God always will answer you in one way or another.
The answer may not be an immediate occurrence. That saying --- “Time is Everything” is ideal in the answers God gives us. It may take moments, hours, days, months or even years for us to receive the answer we are seeking.
Do not demand things from God. Rather ask Him: “What do you want for me to do? Where am I to go? Who am I to be according to your will?” These are just to name a couple very simple ways to ask God about what He expects of us. You can be direct. Ask what you want to know. In time, God will tell you.
Be patient! People often forget that this life we live is under God’s timing, not our own. Things do not just ‘become’ the way we want at the exact time we want them. Wake up and learn some selflessness. If you honestly think that you will get things as you want them, you are highly mistaken. God wants you to also, thank Him and glorify only Him. Do these things and He will reward you. Be consistent and He will consistently reward you.
Remember this and say a little prayer. God knows, we all need prayer.
