Acclaimed pianist Simone Dinnerstein will play a rare performance of the complete "Goldberg" variations when she makes her Miami debut at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday.
"This extraordinary young American is a beacon of the new generation of classical music with her fresh, powerful performances of timeless music and her brilliant classical recordings that have climbed to the top of the 'Billboard' charts," said Arsht Center President and CEO John Richard.
Johann Sebastian Bach's work is considered one of the most powerful music scores ever written. First published in 1741, it remains to this day one of the most demanding and moving scores in the keyboard repertory.
The New York Times has hailed Dinnerstein as been hailed as "an utterly distinctive voice in the forest of Bach interpretations" and her 2011 recording, "Bach: A Strange Beauty," was an instant Number One hit on Billboard's Classical Charts. This was followed by her 2012 chart-topper, "Something Almost Being Said: Music of Bach and Schubert."
The Jan. 13 concert kicks off the Arsht Center's four-concert John S. and James L. Knight Masterworks season.
Tickets range from $75 to $130.
