Think it can't happen to you? Think again.
Last month, 8-day old Mario Viera Delgado was circumcised at South Miami Hospital even though his mother told doctors over and over that she did not want her boy circumcised.
The hospital admitted the mistake, but claimed the boy suffered no complications. Mario's family hired Spencer Aronfeld of the Aronfeld Trial Lawyers to sue the hospital. But that won't get Mario's foreskin back.
Do not assume, just because circumcision rates have fallen to 33%, that your newborn son is safe from circumcision in an American hospital. He is not.
We are a circumcising culture. As many Egyptians are blind to the harm caused when they circumcise their girls, many Americans are blind to the harm inflicted on our boys by circumcision.
If you plan to give birth in an American hospital, then you need to take steps to make sure your boy is not accidentally circumcised like poor Mario.
Here are some ideas to keep your infant boy safe

Tell your doctor and every nurse who comes to your room that you do not want your son circumcised. Be direct and firm. Let them know that if your son is accidentally circumcised, you will sue. -
Keep your boy with you at all times. Do not let them take him to the nursery. Do not let a boy child out of your sight. -
If your boy must be away, for example, if he must stay in the NICU for a few days, put a sign on his incubator or bassinet that clearly says in large bold letters - "Do NOT circumcise." -
Some parents dress their newborn in a onesy they decorate with the words "Do not circumcise me. Do not retract my foreskin. My parents will sue you if you touch my penis" You can buy fabric markers at a craft store to write on a plain onesy. -
Write "Do not circ" on your child's stomach with an indelible marker. Write in an area that cannot be missed if your child is taken for circumcision while you are not there.
You are not being "over the top" by doing everything in your power to protect your boy from circumcision.
You do not want to end up like Vera Delgado, crying for days because the hospital docs circed your boy when you were not there to protect him. Do everything you can to protect your child so you can bring him home whole and healthy.

The fuckers. Why oh why oh why is the UNITED STATES still so fucking backward?
What goes on over there? Every child that comes through is automatically sent for circumcision? That is messed up. Leave the poor kids alone.
How can cutting off 1/2 of the penile skin and 75% of the man to be sexual receptors be called a accident when it "happened" in the 1 hour the mother was gone to shower and change clothes? This was not an accident. Further her boy was taken from the intensive care unit which is NOT proper medical procedure since boys must be first be healthy to circumcise. No this was deliberate. I hope the court also finds against the hospital and doctor to do good community service by awarding donation funding to ForeGen.org. This is the only way Mario is going to get back what was stolen from him and restore all his penile functions.
Im so sick of hearing all of these freaks lobbying against circumcision. Don't get me wrong, what happened in this case should not have happened, but has anyone ever heard someone say "I really wish I could have my foreskin reattached" or "damn, im so ashamed of my circumcised penis". Women prefer circumcised men, circumcised men are much cleaner and less apt to falling victim to disease or infection. It is really an issue of hygiene; uncircumcised penises are filthy. Stop whining about foreskin and start thinking about the state of the world people, you are all missing the big picture focusing all of your time and attention on foreskin.
