Accident on ‘Castle’ set has left actress and stuntman with serious injuries (Video)

High drama is what “Castle” is all about. However, a real life drama unfolded on the set on Thursday night. An unfortunate accident occurred during the filming of an episode for the highly popular ABC show. Deadline reported on Jan. 18 that two people were taken to the hospital for their injuries on the Paramount lot.

Karen David was a guest actress on the Monday night drama. She was filming a scene in a moving van with a stuntman, according to talent manager William Blaylock. The van door wouldn’t shut and they both fell from the moving vehicle. This unfortunate mishap landed both the actress and the stuntman in the hospital. Blaylock told Deadline, “Karen was in the emergency room for hours being treated. She has been released but is in serious pain and has to wear a neck brace.” The stuntman is still hospitalized in serious condition suffering from head injuries.

According to her Facebook page, the 33-year-old actress had announced just a few days ago that she was cast as Sara, a Columbia University sophomore student. The actress sounded quite excited to have landed this role on “Castle.” She said, "I'm really excited about my storyline and will be in a few episodes of the show for now. I can't say too much, but let's just say she gets caught up in something big in the storyline!" She certainly didn’t expect to have something this big happen.

Karen David was seen in the pilot episode of the Fox drama “Touch” and will also be in the upcoming movie“Jack Ryan,” co-starring with actor Chris Pine in December 2013.

As for the injured stuntman, whose name has not been given out yet, he remains in the hospital and will hopefully recover quickly.

There has been no comment from ABC or anyone from the “Castle” set on the accident.
