Accenting your wedding dress with a splash of color

Bridal wear fashion made a splash with color on the runways of Paris, Barcelona and New York during the Fall fashion week. Couture bridal wear designers flaunted their color infused wedding gowns on the runway and secured a place for this new concept in wedding dresses. Fashion savvy brides are opting to add some colorful details to their wedding gowns, by adding a colored sash, beaded embellishments, or colored lace to their dresses.

A bit of color can really make a dress more dramatic and allow the bride to stand out. For example, a red or blue sash can complement the wedding hues and the bridesmaids’ dresses, and it can make a white dress come alive with interest. It is also great way to incorporate the something blue tradition into the bridal attire, as well. Another, great concept is to have a bit of color either on the bodice or the hemline of the dress.  Pop singer, Gwen Stefani, turned heads when she wore an ivory wedding gown with pink on the bottom and train of her dress. Well known bridal wear designer, Maggie Sottero, has a collection of bridal dresses with beautiful red, pink and black accents for the upcoming wedding season. This new chic trend of adding vibrant accents and embellishments to wedding dresses has become a flattering new style for the young and modern bride.

Most popular colors to watch out for this fall are burgundy, mocha, navy blue, gold, burnt orange and plum. All of these beautiful hues can be a gorgeous accent on any bridal gown. All one needs is a bit of creativity and a flair for elegance. Let your personal style guide you.
