Academy of the Company Theatre debuts Pulitzer prize-winning play, 'Our Town'

It is a town not unlike other towns. Simple, stirring, and poignant, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Thornton Wilder, ‘Our Town’ is universally appealing for its familiar characters and powerful message. A true New England tale, ‘Our Town’ is loosely patterned after a secluded, country town in New Hampshire.

The Academy of the Company Theatre celebrates the 75th anniversary of ‘Our Town’ by bringing the play back to the stage on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10 at 8 p.m. There will also be a school group performance open to the public on Monday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. Visit for more information on the Company Theatre's 35th anniversary season.

Directed by Peter Carey, ‘Our Town’ tells the story of two families whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways. With romance, humor, and drama, ‘Our Town’ most importantly, explores unnoticed beauty in the simplicities of everyday life.
