Academy of Country Music Announce Award Nominations

Nominations for the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced today.  Miranda Lambert takes the lead with 7 nominations, while Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band followed closely behind with 5 nominations each.  Kentucky will be represented with the Top Vocal Duo Nomination of Montgomery Gentry and Vocal Event of the Year for “Coal Miner’s Daughter” – Loretta Lynn, Sheryl Crow and Miranda Lambert (Columbia Nashville) Produced by: John Carter Cash, Patsy Lynn Russell

Miranda Lambert leds with seven nominations, including Top Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. She was nominated for Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for The House That Built Me and received two nominations for Video of the Year for  Only Prettier and The House That Built Me.  She is nominated for Vocal Event of the Year with Sheryl Crow and Loretta Lynn for Coal Miner’s Daughter.

Fans will select the winner for Entertainer of the Year, Top New Solo Vocalist, and Top New Vocal Duo or Group.  The winner of the two newcomer categories will compete for Top New Artist.

The broadcast will be live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network. Blake Shelton will join Reba McEntire to help co-host the event.
