I had the opportunity to sit down with one of my featured acts that will be performing at a talent showcase that I will be coordinating March 24th in Hannibal, MO. After learning that I was hosting yet another hip hop adventure in Hannibal, hip hop artist Buzz The Navigator contacted me and wanted in on the fun.
Our meeting took place at my watering hole The historical Bismark Restaurant and Lounge at 410 Tucker downtown Saint Louis, MO. Where we enjoyed coverage of the NBA All-Star game and the Academy Awards.
I actually was about to walk out of the interview upon Meryl Streep winning Best Actress, but I digressed because I still had to focus on my show and my performers.
How are you?
Buzz: I am great.
How long have you been performing?
Buzz: Since 2000, with my solo albums. I have been rapping since 1996.
Tell me what will you be bringing to the table in Hannibal, MO on March 24th?
Buzz: I will be pushing old school music in general with a twist of late '90's hip hop.
Who are your greatest inspirations?
Buzz: Let me see E40, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, UGK, Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.
Tell me about your latest work?
Buzz: My latest work is called 'My Music My Way'.
Okay when you get to Hannibal, MO what will you say to the artists that are trying to establish themselves in the hip hop game?
Buzz: Do you, no matter what anybody tell you. Because doing you is going to make you be who you want to be.
I am doing my best to showcase many talents for my show in Hannibal, what do you think will draw the fans to your style of music?
Buzz: I make music that you want to marinate with. That type of flow that you haven't heard before.
