Academy Award winners announced, and highlights from the show

The winners of the 84th annual Academy Awards have been announced! Octavia Spencer gave an emotional acceptance speech for her Best Supporting Actress award. Billy Crystal didn't get enough screen time, although he did better than James Franco and Anne Hathaway last year. Next year I vote Robert Downey, Jr. as host. He had amazing chemistry with Gwenyth Paltrow while announcing the Best Documentary award winner. Or Chris Rock, who had a great bit when announcing the award for Best Animated Feature. And Ben Stiller told her "you don't want to be the presenter who tries too hard", but Emma Stone was fantastic! She could easily host.

Who was your favorite at the Oscar ceremony tonight? Who do you think was the best dressed? My personal favorites were Christopher Plummer in his dapper velvet tux, Angelina Jolie in that black dress with the slit up to there, and Emma Stone in her giant red concoction that only she could pull off.

Meryl Streep pulled off a HUGE upset with her win in the Best Actress category for 'The Iron Lady', a very subpar movie with her fantastic performance, but 'The Artist' won the top prize as expected. 'Hugo' did take away more awards than everyone thought, including Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction.
