ACA cost premiums to increase (Video)

People attempting to sign to the Federal Healthcare Exchanges would have discover higher premiums then expected. The exchanges are required to except everyone regardless of previous illness and benefit mandate. While some people are eligible for tax credits, others are not. Expectable private insurance is not cheaper either. The Daily Caller reports that Missouri is one of 10 states that Obamacare wipes out existing plans. Robyn Hamlin sales insurance for a living and have been critical of Obamacare. In the video, Hamlin warn the a committee dealing with healthcare about medicaid expansion. Hamlin points out that insurance will be going up in 2014. The new law restricts insurance form charging patients at 64 years 3 times more than patients at 24 years. This along with forcing to except people regardless of preexisting conditions causes premiums to increase especially for young people.

According to the Huffington Post's Jeffrey Young, young people who see the higher premiums because of higher benefit mandate. Young expect young people to qualify for tax credits since younger people have lower income. The Washington Beacon reports that the Obamacare increase young people’s premium of 260%. Now the administration wants young people to participate in purchasing insurance because they will financing the system as well as being insured. This will make it difficult because a plan for $64.00 a month will be $187.00. Young report is reaffirmed by CNN’s fact check. According to CNN, premium rise, but subsidies and price controls could mean people paying a net less.

Proponents of Obamacare referred to Romneycare, the healthcare reform that then Republican Governor Mitt Romney signed into law in 2006; however, according to Avik Roy of Forbes Romney's proposals was different then what he singed into law. Romney sought a more market place proposal, expand choice, cost-sharing, and only require people to buy insurance the covered catastrophic care. Romney was thinking a $10,000.00 bond. The bill Romney ended up signing required health insurance or fine, and included the 3 tier Gold, Silver and Bronze plan in the exchanges.
