ABW Event: Craft Beer Dinner at Ariccia of The Hotel at Auburn University

Alabama Beer Week (ABW) will begin just as it did last year with the Magic City Brewfest.  ABW will span from June 3rd to the 13th, and it will feature craft beer events all over the state of Alabama.  The mission of ABW is to celebrate all things craft beer in Alabama, and to hopefully expose those who have not experienced craft beer to the budding beer culture in Alabama.  I will do my best to profile as many of this year's events as possible in the next week or so.

I will begin with the event that seems to have generated the most buzz this year.  It is a five course, craft beer dinner at Ariccia Italian Trattoria and Bar of The Hotel at Auburn University on June 11th at 6:30 pm.  This dinner has been put together by Chef Leonardo Maurelli and each course will feature a craft beer that has been handpicked to compliment and accentuate the flavor of the food being served.  Hors d'oeuvres will begin at 6:30 pm and the dinner will officially start at 7 pm.  Cost of this event is $55 per person.  Make sure to arrange reservations quickly because seating is limited.  To make reservations, you can call (334) 844-5140. **UPDATE** This event has sold out  **UPDATE**

The menu is below.  At the time of the press release I received, the beers had not been chosen for each course yet.  As soon as I have that information, I will update that accordingly.  With that said, word is that Back Forty Beer Company, Great Divide Brewing Company, and Tommyknocker Brewery, Straight to Ale, and Moylan's Brewery are involved in this event.

If you have never attended a beer dinner, you are truly missing out.  It always makes for an amazing night out at an incredible value.  You get to learn more about craft beer while enjoying an amazing meal and even better company.  If you are at all interested in fine beer and food and you are free on June 11th, you should really consider adding this event to your calendar.  Prost!
