Approximately one year ago, the Fort Worth Animal Control rescued 28 Greyhounds from the back yard of a residence in Fort Worth. The Greyhounds had been kept in deplorable conditions with no food, water or shelter.

The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. recovered the 28 Greyhounds from the Fort Worth Animal Control. With the assistance of Greyhounds Unlimited and It’s A Grey Area rescue groups, these dogs were able to be taken care of properly. Sadly, three of the 28 dogs did not make it. These Greyhound Rescue Group volunteers are still mourning the senseless loss of Martin, Rachel and Pudge.

It is now almost ONE YEAR later, and The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. is saddened that this case has not progressed more aggressively. Information from the GALT website…..We have learned that the District Attorney’s office has filed only 3 misdemeanor charges against the perpetrator for intentionally or knowingly failing to provide adequate food, water and shelter to the dogs. Sadly, these charges are not the most serious. The 3 charges are for Martin, Rachel and Pudge, all of whom died from this abuse and neglect…...

Further details and comments regarding this case, as well as updates on the prosecution can be found on the GALT website.
