Baby Bridget, the eight-month-old Labrador retriever mix, doused with bleach, and rescued on Sunday with her two siblings thanks to a Craigslist advertisement is making a miraculous recovery stated a Tuesday evening Facebook update on Unleashed Pet Rescue.

"Baby Bridget had her feeding tube removed this morning because she was eating on her own!!!
The vets were astonished with how quickly she is recovering!!
We are making the appointment with the ophthalmologist for tomorrow to get her precious little eyes checked out, but as you can see from the picture, she has them open and can see!! We were afraid she would lose her vision, but she hasn't!!
They have released her from the emergency vet and she is settling into her loving, foster home as we speak
Bridget and the rest of us here at Unleashed, cannot thank all of our friends enough for the overwhelming support we have received."

Calling Bridget's heartbreaking condition the worst case of animal cruelty they have ever seen, the Mission, Unleashed Pet Rescue posted photos on Sunday of the defenseless puppy with chemical burns to her body, face, back, eyes, and throat. Evidence of bleach having been poured down the puppy's throat and a metal nut found in her stomach made it impossible for the pooch to even eat.

All three puppies were reported to have been left outdoors during the freezing cold weather conditions last week.

The rescuers say other puppies in the litter may not have survived.

Danielle Reno, of the rescue organization has given all the information she received to authorities and hopes the culprit responsible for this egregious animal cruelty is found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The other two puppies named Gidget and Fidget are expected to be available for adoption in a few weeks. Bridget will require months of care, but has settled into her foster home.
