eBay sellers may think they are being clever and figuring out "workarounds," but misusing an Amazon Prime account fill orders on eBay or other sites is absolutely not allowed. The Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions specifically state:
- We reserve the right to accept or refuse membership in our discretion.
- You may not transfer or assign your Prime membership or any Prime benefits, except as part of our invitee program described above.
- Prime members are not permitted to purchase products for the purpose of resale, rental, or to ship to their customers or potential customers using Prime benefits.
- From time to time, Amazon may choose in its sole discretion to add or remove Prime membership benefits from paid or free promotional programs.
eBay sellers may think they are being clever, but they are risking their status as a Prime Member and can lose shopping privileges on Amazon.
There are several eBay drop shipping scams circulating on the internet. one specifically where a self-proclaimed successful eBay seller is instructing eBay sellers via a viral video to list phantom products on eBay. He demonstrates how to copy and paste an Amazon listing onto eBay, raise the price a few dollars so a profit can be made, and when an eBay buyer makes the purchase, just use your Amazon Prime Account to fulfill the order. Amazon Prime allows members to ship items, such as gifts, to different addresses.
Not only is this drop shipping scam a "pie in the sky" idea, it is abuse of a Prime Account and strictly against the terms of service. Some eBay sellers have followed this scheme and listed thousands of "phantom products" on their eBay account (imagine the time that takes), only to have their Amazon Prime Accounts suspended for misuse. Unfortunately, this idea appeals to those who believe in get rich quick schemes.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There are much more legitimate ways to make money on eBay and Amazon, and they require actual work, not just copying and pasting listings from one site to the other. Read the full Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions to make sure you don't put your account in jeopardy.
