About the Masters Golf Tournament

Golf is a sport that many people consider to be a recreational activity or even a great way to relax and unwind in the outdoors. Although most people simply play golf for fun, some individuals carve out careers as professional players and the widespread popularity of golf has skyrocketed some of the better-known players into superstar status. Moreover, golf events get massive recognition and followings on media outlets and the Masters Golf Tournament is unchallenged in its popularity and prestige.

The Masters is a professional golf tournament that is held annually in the first week of April at the Augusta National Golf Club in the state of Georgia, USA. Since it was established in 1934, the Masters has become an icon of golf greatness with winners frequently finding themselves worth millions. Since 1949, it has been traditional to award the winner a green jacket which he must return to the clubhouse one year after his victory.

Although the Masters is an event for the best of the best players, it is popular among golf fans and every year many people travel to the Augusta National Golf Club to watch the event unfold in person. Tickets cost around $65 per day but, for those who are interested (including children who aspire to become professional golfers), the experience is priceless.
