Funnyman Kevin Hart and his co-star comedic actress Regina Hall had everyone cracking up on the set of “Good Morning America" Tuesday as the two promoted their upcoming romantic comedy “About Last Night” . The film which also stars Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant is set to hit theaters Valentine’s Day weekend.
The movie is a re-imagining of the 1986 version that starred Rob Lowe and Demi Moore however Hart said they stayed closer to the source material which is the play “Sexual Pervisity in Chicago” by David Mamet.
“Well, you know, we went a little raunchy. This is daytime TV so I don't want to get too raunchy up here but we pushed the envelope with this one. We wanted to show relationships in a real way and real perspective. We're through the roof with the sexy level in this one but we wanted to modernize it. Show relationships of today and do a movie where people cannot only relate to but watch and enjoy and say, wow, you know what, that actually is couples, couples act like this or that.”
Hall spoke about how she approached playing her character Joan who is quite outspoken.
“I watched Kevin and said how can I translate this as a female? And so that's how I came up with Joan. She's passionate. I like to think of her as someone who’s in the moment. You know who is emotionally in the moment."
Hall, Hart and Ealy last co-starred together in the box office smash “Think Like a Man” from 2012. “About Last Night” reunited the stars with super producer Will Packer who serves in that same capcity with this film and who is also behind the current number one movie at the box office “Ride Along”.
“About Last Night”opens in theaters nationwide Friday Feb. 14.
