But they can't confirm he didn't -- at least not yet.
Pitt was born in Springfield on Dec. 18, 1963. Known for regularly returning to do charity work in the area, he's even donated funds to support a children's museum near where he grew up as a young child. But the actor did not bring his bride to be back to the area to get married in 2012 as many Midwesterners had hoped.
But don't worry, Brangelina fans -- there is still a very small chance they might if Hollyscoop sources are right. They reported way back in Apr. that Pitt wanted to get hitched in his hometown.
Celeb gossip sources are still not sure the celebrity couple tied the knot at all over the holidays, so there is still a chance an all-American wedding in Springfield still might happen. Why? Mainly because the famous couple has not confirmed they are married yet.
Despite many press claims that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were supposed to have wed over the Christmas holiday in 2012, no one had been able to produce a marriage certificate. Journalists are still hopeful that something will turn up while fans are eager to hear the sweetheart's confirm they are husband and wife now.
Hollywood insiders speculated they planned to marry at their private estate in the South of France. Jolie was born in California and prides herself on living in various exotic locales internationally.
